The Friends of the Palo Alto Recreation and Wellness Center is organized as a 501 c3 non-profit organization. The Friends will be responsible for the Recreation/Wellness Center during the building phase and will guide this project, raising funds as a 501 c3, working with the City of Palo Alto to ensure the partnership is successful.
How is the Friends of the Palo Alto Recreation and Wellness Center organized?
Based on the model of the Junior Museum and with City input, a Friends of the Palo Alto Recreation and Wellness Center was formed and incorporated August 30, 2022. The Friends received its 501 c3 non-profit determination on December 1, 2022.
Board of Directors of Friends
The Bylaws of the Friends of Recreation and Wellness Center call for a minimum of 3 directors, maximum of 13 and is designed to be flexible and nimble to achieve success. There are currently 9 directors who meet monthly at the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce office.
